So, COVID-19 is a disease caused by a new strain of coronavirus. ‘CO’ stands for corona, ‘VI’ for virus, and ‘D’ for disease. Formerly, this disease was referred to as ‘2019 novel coronavirus’ or ‘2019-nCoV’ . The first human cases of COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus causing COVID-19, subsequently named SARS-CoV-2 were first reported by officials in Wuhan City, China, in December 2019. investigations by Chinese authorities have identified human cases with onset of symptoms in early December 2019. While some of the earliest known cases had a link to a wholesale food market in Wuhan, some did not.

What is the origin of covid? The current scientific consensus is that the virus is most likely from bats or another closely-related mammal. Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a contagious disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). the virus spreads mainly between people who are in close contact with each other, typically within 1 meter[RP1] . A person can be infected when droplets containing the virus are inhaled or come directly into contact with the eyes, nose, or mouth. Who are at higher risk of developing serious illness from Covid-19? Older people, and those with underlying medical problems like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory disease, and cancer are more likely to develop serious illness.

How to prevent Covid-19

1. Clean your hands often. Use soap and water, or an alcohol-based hand rub.

2. Maintain a safe distance from anyone who is coughing or sneezing.

3. Wear a mask when physical distancing is not possible.

4. Don’t touch your eyes, nose or mouth.

5. Cover your nose and mouth with your bent elbow or a tissue when you cough or sneeze.

6. Stay home if you feel unwell.

7. If you have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical attention.

8. Avoid touching your face.

9. Practice physical distancing by avoiding unnecessary travel and staying away from large groups of people.

10. Refrain from smoking and other activities that weaken the lungs

11. Get vaccinated as soon as possible.

Impact of Covid-19. COVID-19 responsible for at least 3 million excess deaths in 2020. As of 31 December 2020, COVID-19 had infected over 82 million people and killed more than 1.8 million worldwide. Many people lost their jobs and many did not have any access to food for the first time, and there were lockdowns everywhere so economies crashed, doctors had mental and physical stress, many people did work from home as some could not, schools and colleges were online some people could not attend the classes because of lack of money due to loss of jobs.

Finally thanking everyone, right now, our healthcare workers are on the frontlines of battling the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) that’s spreading rapidly throughout our city, state and nation. They are putting themselves in the path of this virus around the world in this unprecedented crisis. Our doctors, nurses, technicians, transporters, EMTs, pharmacists and everyone who supports patient care are rising to the occasion and caring for our most vulnerable populations.

We will soon come out of this situation everyone encourage each other to take vaccines, and stay at home only come out if necessary if we all follow all steps mentioned above we will very soon come out of this situation and our doctors can rest, and we can live without masks now ,we know what is covid and all about it.
